In a previously unreported interaction, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) shared a post from an X account that is largely dedicated to promoting virulent antisemitic commentator Nick Fuentes. The Boebert-shared post criticized alleged “illegal Chinese migrants” and also asked people to follow the account, which posts antisemitic and white nationalist content. 

Boebert is a Republican member of Congress who has a history of interacting with extremist causes, including endorsing the QAnon conspiracy theory, touting the support of white nationalist commentator Tom Tancredo, and rallying with members of the far-right Three Percenters militia. 

Fuentes, as summarized by the Southern Poverty Law Center, “is a white nationalist livestreamer who advocates pulling the Republican Party further to the extreme far-right end of the political spectrum. An outspoken admirer of fascists such as Mussolini, Fuentes emerged as an influential figure on the national stage during the now-infamous ‘Stop the Steal’ movement.” Fuentes has also repeatedly praised Adolf Hitler and denied the Holocaust. 

Media Matters has frequently documented the Republican Party’s promotions of and interactions with far-right extremists, including white nationalists and antisemites. 

Toward the end of November, Boebert interacted with the verified X (formerly Twitter) account AF Post, which states in its bio: “News and alerts from around the world, from an America First perspective. Not affiliated with any organization, podcast, or activist.” Fuentes uses “America First” as the title of his streaming show, foundation, and conference. 

On November 24, AF Post wrote: “More illegal Chinese migrants have breached southern border in 2023 than in the past 10 years combined. Follow: @AFpost.” 

On November 26, Boebert shared that post, writing: “China is not our friend. You can be sure they have sent spies and others who will do harm to this nation via our wide-open Southern Border. A true disgrace and a national security issue all caused by Joe Biden’s failure to uphold his Constitutional oath to protect this nation.” (Fuentes was not mentioned in either post.) 

The account Boebert was sharing acts as a clearinghouse for news about and videos and defenses of Fuentes. Here are four examples: 

The account also promotes Fuentes’ antisemitic and white nationalist remarks. For instance: 

• On October 25, AF Post wrote: “America First activist Nick Fuentes explains why Jews are overrepresented in Hollywood and media on InfoWars’ American Journal.” 
• On October 3, AF Post wrote: “Nick Fuentes explores the ungratefulness of non-White immigrants living in countries built by Europeans: ‘If these Hispanics and Blacks, if they love our country then they would say this country is better when it’s majority White— but they don’t.’”
• On August 25, AF Post wrote: “America First activist Nick Fuentes warns of America’s grim future without President Trump (@realDonaldTrump) in office: ‘Everything you like about America, everything you like about White civilization is gone. All you’re gonna have left is China… if Trump loses and they get their way.’” 
• On August 12, AF Post wrote: “America First activist Nick Fuentes scolds Obama-appointed judge Tanya Chutkan for treating former President Trump like a common criminal: ‘No b*tch, he’s the king of America, ya stupid b*tch. Go back to Jamaica.’” 
• On June 23, AF Post wrote: “Nick Fuentes calls out Commentator Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) for blatant historical revisionism. The banned activist exposes Jewish origins of modern trans movement, dating back to Magnus Hirschfeld’s Berlin Institute of Sex.” 

The account has also promoted Fuentes’ pro-Hitler commentary during what Fuentes called “a bit”:

Fuentes has frequently directed his followers to the account, as a search of his Telegram account for “AFPost” shows. 

Last year, Boebert reportedly criticized Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after she spoke at Fuentes’ white nationalist conference. Politico reported that in March of 2022 Boebert and Greene “tangled over Greene’s appearance at a February event organized by” Fuentes and “their confrontation grew so heated that at least one onlooker feared the Greene-Boebert back-and-forth might escalate beyond the verbal cage match had another board member not stepped in to de-escalate, according to a GOP lawmaker who was granted anonymity to describe what happened.”
